David Garrett: Music - Live in Concert

Episode 1 of 1

Filmed in Hanover at the sold-out TUI Arena, in front of an audience of over 10,000 fans, star violinist David Garrett presents Music - Live in Concert. Joined by his band and the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt for this stunning live extravaganza, David brilliantly combines different musical styles and eras. He not only presents pieces that stir the soul but also sets new standards in the virtuosity and versatility of his violin playing. With arrangements of the great composers from Beethoven to The Beatles, Coldplay to Clementi, David captivates his audience with different elements from the world of music and wows them with stunning visual backdrops and pyrotechnics. It is not surprising that David Garrett - who has succeeded in crossing boundaries and connecting different musical styles, genres and generations for years - chose this title for his latest show. With Music, this exceptional artist seizes the opportunity to present the violin in a whole new light. In his most versatile production to date, David Garrett pushes the limits to show the world what violin playing is all about. Music demonstrates the ease with which the internationally acclaimed violinist crosses artistic boundaries between pop and classical music, rock and romantic, punk and baroque. Rather than adopt an arbitrary mix of styles in a postmodern "anything goes," David Garrett insists on the highest conceivable standards in the crossing over of his arrangements. His understanding of crossover grows out of the spirit of classical music, where his roots still are. As David puts it, "On one hand I try to see classical music in a new perspective, on the other hand I want to integrate elements of classical music into pop, yet leave its original energy intact... Great music is always timeless!"
