This adaptation of the beloved French novel by Emile Zola is a rags to riches story of a young woman seduced by the dangerous charms of the modern world. Set against the Victorian splendor of a British department store, "The Paradise" follows Denise Lovett who lands a job as a shop girl and finds herself facing a future filled with never-before-imagined opportunities. Exotic lovebirds arrive at The Paradise to be sold as the latest attraction, and Denise struggles to keep her feelings for Moray to herself. Miss Audrey, seeing the telltale signs of love, advises her to keep quiet, but will Denise be able to hide her emotions?
