Season 3, Episode 1 of 14

Thomas is shunting trucks while James is collecting flour to make cakes for a children's party. Thomas isn't happy and bumps James's flour truck causing the door to open. Thomas tries to hide James's truck causing flour to pour from the open door. Soon the truck is empty and Thomas is horrified at what he has done. Thomas puffs to the mill to get a new flour truck, by the mill is closed. The only truck of flour is behind a big line of empty trucks - it'll take forever to move them all without help. So Thomas asks James to help and together they get the flour in time for the children's party. Thomas is pleased to have worked together with his friend. Sir Handle is known to be one of the smoothest engines on the narrow gauge railway. Mr. Percival gives him a special job, to take a load off apples. But he must be gentle so they don't bruise. But Sir Handle has a problem. When he goes up hills he starts to rattle and rock. He asks Peter Sam to help him take the apples. Mr. Percival is impressed, but Sir Handle doesn't admit the truth. Mr. Percival gives Sir Handle another delicate job, but again he asks a friend to help. This time, Mr. Percival gives him an extra special job, taking him and his wife for a picnic. This time, he can't hide the truth - he shudders and shakes. Sir Handle explains his problem to Mr. Percival who sends him for repairs straightaway - he should have explained his problem before!
