Iain Glen (Game of Thrones, Jack Taylor), Dawn French (The Vicar of Dibley), and Emilia Fox (Silent Witness) star in new four-part drama about food, love and infidelity in Cornwall. Leo Vincent (Iain Glen, Game of Thrones, Jack Taylor) is a successful chef with more than a few secrets: he stole most of his recipes from his ex-wife Gina (Dawn French, The Vicar of Dibley), who he cheated on for years. Now married to "the other woman" (Emilia Fox, Silent Witness), Leo is having yet another affair...with Gina. After a shocking death, Gina is forced to evaluate her closest relationships. Comedian Chef and entrepreneur Leo Vincent runs the idyllic Penrose hotel in the Tamar valley. Leo made his fortune from exceptional Italian cooking - a family tradition that he inherited from his ex-wife, Gina Benelli (Dawn French) with whom he shares a daughter, Theresa. Passionate and sensual Gina was the woman behind much of the hotel's success, which has continued to flourish since Leo left her for younger woman Sam (Emilia Fox). Leo now lives with Sam and their son Michael, and after initial animosity Sam and Gina have forged a friendship and are part of an extended, if slightly dysfunctional family. When Sam worries that Leo is having an affair with hotel manager Suzy, it's Gina she turns to for advice, knowing that Gina has been through it herself. She decides to catch Leo in the act, following him when she sees him sneaking off at Theresa's birthday party - where she discovers that it's Gina that Leo is having an affair with. No sooner has Leo been caught in flagrante with his ex-wife in front of half the village, when things go from bad to worse. He only has time to end his relationship with Gina before he drops down dead, leaving a family in disarray and a hotel with no one at the helm. The fall out leaves a broken family needing to cope with the death or a patriarch while making sense of a future without him. Although their friendship has risen from the ashes of betrayal already, can Sam and Gina do it again with fresh new wounds? When it's revealed that Leo had major debts, Sam and Gina have to work together to make the Pen-rose a success. Meanwhile their children, half-siblings Theresa and Michael, embark on a complicated journey of their own, finding solace in a friendship that teeters on the brink of something much more disturbing and complicated. All the while they are watched over by Leo, who is gone but still with us in the form of a voiceover. He tells us that his death was the best thing that happened to his family, but as we watch them struggle through the mess he left behind, it seems a long way from the truth.
