Spain...On The Road Again

Ride along with the stars on the anything-goes, cross-country adventure, Spain...on the road Again. Spain...on the road Again is a personality-driven, "real-life reality show" - a fun and spontaneous showcase of the pleasures of Spain, along with the hazards of male-female relationships, amusing road-trip incidents, and the country's art, history, culture and music. Behind the wheel of this road trip-style TV series is a veritable "dream team": Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow, chef Mario Batali, journalist Mark Bittman and actress Claudia Bassols. The premise is simple: the two men, single-minded food- and wine-obsessed friends, are constantly on the lookout for their next great meal. The two women also like to eat and drink but they have their own agenda: enjoying Spain's infinite other pleasures - museums, shopping, music, spas and nightlife. Put the four of them on a cross-country trip and the result is a showcase of Spain as it's never been seen before. Each episode begins with the stars plotting their travels - often, Gwyneth drives Mario while Claudia and Mark share another vehicle. Their cars, specially fitted with 1080 p HD microcameras to complement the four Sony 900 R HD field cameras, capture their leisurely paced journeys through the Spanish countryside and historic towns. Like any tourist, the four bump into accidental delights on their travels; but sometimes they go where few tourists can. For example, Batali and Paltrow visit the Alhambra (a palace-fortress in Granada) alone at night, and receive a personal tour of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao from its architect, Frank Gehry. Meanwhile, Bittman and Bassols spend the evening in St. Sebastian with one of Spain's most famous chefs and bon vivants, Juan Marie Arzac. Willie Nelson lends his talents with a specially recorded version of the theme song, "On the Road Again."
