Astronomy: Eyes On The Universe

Season 2, Episode 2 of 4

Eyes on the Universe focuses on the world class astronomy being conducted right here in Southern Arizona, including a visit to the most powerful telescope in use today. Also, Kitt Peak National Observatory, home to the largest collection of optical telescopes in the world, celebrates its 50th anniversary; how people all over the world can see the celestial wonders Galileo saw 400 years ago using low cost, easy to assemble telescopes; and the continual search for things in space that could hit Earth by the Cataline Sky Survey, funded by NASA to track near-Earth objects that could potentially destroy our planet and its inhabitants.
