Treasure: Mona learns about treasure. - Mona and Russell are outside hunting for bugs. Mona gets a beetle and puts it in her bucket. Russell finds a worm and adds it to Mona's bucket. Mona and Russell lift up some rocks and find a potato bug. They put it in the bucket as well. Nana joins them outside and they show her what they have found. Nana says that they are garden treasures, and that it is time for a puppet show at Mr.Wooka's. Puppet Show: Gary and the monsters are lost. They find a map and decide to look for the red X. They hope that the treasure will be food, or water. It turns out that it is actual treasure. They decide that they should all get in the hole where the treasure was, so that someone might find them. After the puppet show, Mona and Russell go looking for more bugs. They find a caterpillar, and show Nana the new bug. Nana tells them that it is snack time, and that they should all come inside. Mona wants to bring her bugs with her, but Nana says that she should leave them outside. Nana gives Mona some cereal and they notice the box says there is a prize inside. They decide that they will look for it after Mona eats her snack. Before Mona can eat, Nana must go to the basement to get the milk. While Nana has left, Mona empties out all the cereal from the box. She finds a beautiful ring. When Nana returns she sees the big mess, and Mona shows her the ring. Nana says the ring reminds her of her pearl necklace. Mona notices there is a pearl missing from her necklace. Mona tells her she will help find the missing pearl. Mona and Russell begin to search for the pearl. Russell sniffs and thinks it is under the chest, but it turns out to be his pork chop. They all keep searching, until it is story time. Story Time: The Smartest Pirate. - The book is about a pirate named Jimmy. He wants to share with the other pirates' treasure, but they tell him that he must get his own. He decides to set sail, and find some treasure. On his trip he searches an island but finds nothing. When he returns home, the other pirates laugh at him because he is empty handed. He announces that in fact, he did get a treasure. The fun journey was his treasure. Nana wishes she could find her pearl. She feels something on her seat. She discovers it is the pearl. The doorbell rings and Mona's Mom is there to pick her up. They show Mom Mona's ring and Nana's pearl and how they found it together. Before Mona goes home, her and Russell let all the bugs in the bucket go free.
