This live-action program follows the exploits of Wishbone the dog and his human friends, Joe, David and Samantha through their adventures in their hometown of Oakdale. Wishbone's everyday experiences trigger hi s imagination and he finds himself in scenes from classic works of lit erature. In this episode, Dr.Thelma Brown comes back to visit her chil dhood home and takes the kids on a dig for a long-lost time capsule. M eanwhile, Wishbone as the living time capsule, Rip Van Winkle, teaches the value of the past in Washington Irving's tale.
