Sagwa, The Chinese Siamese Cat

New Year's Clean-Up/Firefly Nights

Season 1, Episode 2 of 40

New Year's Clean-up - Tradition dictates that the house has to be completely clean before the start of the new year. After Tai-Tai finds rats in the house, the cats are ordered to run them out. Sagwa gets taken in by a crafty rat, who, eager to stay in the palace and eat more palace food, convinces Sagwa that she should let him stay; he can make her look good by letting her catch him over and over again. Sagwa likes being applauded as a great rat catcher, but she soon discovers that she really doesn't like participating in this scam and tells the rat to scram! For good! Firefly Nights - Tired of being treated as a kitten, Dongwa convinces his father that he's all grown up. He accompanies Baba throughout the day and night, taking on all sorts of new grown up responsibilities. Dongwa soon realizes that being grown up takes a lot of hard work and is very, very tiring!-and that being a kitten is much more fun.
