The annual National Geographic Bee returns for the 21st consecutive year with host and moderator Alex Trebek. The 2009 National Geographic Bee will feature winning students from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, US territories, and Department of Defense schools. There is a preliminary round for the 55 winning students to determine the top ten students that compete on stage with Alex Trebek. The contest features questions on topics spanning meteorology, international affairs, culture and social history. The Top 10 Students will compete to share $50,000 in college scholarships.
