This episode of READING RAINBOW, "Berlioz the Bear," features the art of music. Host LeVar Burton explores the many sounds of New York City and the musicians on its streets. James Avery reads Jan Brett's BERLIO Z THE BEAR, a book about a group of bear-musicians. Dr. Walter Turnbul l, director of the Boys Choir of Harlem, and some of his students talk about the Choir and singing. At the end of the program, kids suggest reading THE SCIENCE BOOK OF SOUND, GEORGIA MUSIC, and INTRODUCTION TO MUSICAL INTRUMENTS SERIES: BRASS/PERCUSSION/STRINGS/ WOODWINDS.
